Poll Update – Argentina Lead the way

Ok ok, Australia are currently leading the way – however as the majority of you think that Australia won’t get past the group stage, we’ll discount Australia’s top spot on our “who do you think will win the World Cup” poll and put it down to some (possibly) overly optimistic die hard Socceroos fans. That leaves the next team down, Argentina.

With current FIFA World Player of the Year Lionel Messi on board, alongside a team almost full of truly world class talent, it’s not hard to see why a few of you are favouring Argentina. But that means your thoughts are different to that of most leading bookmakers, who seem to prefer Spain as the most likely victors.

I reckon Argentina will sail through their group no problems. If they win their group they will be up against Mexico, South Africa or Uruguay (France will most likely win their group), so it doesn’t look too hard for them in that stage either.

I am an overly optimistic die hard Socceroo fan so I voted for Australia.
